    CPS opened its first branch office in Nashville, Tennessee. Around this time, the company added water and sewer piping products to its gas products.

    A little over a decade from our founding, we had offices in 10 markets across the South, including Birmingham, Nashville, Pascagoula, Jacksonville, Montgomery, Andalusia, Shreveport, Jackson, Knoxville, and Atlanta.

    Warehousing, manufacturing, and distribution facilities increase in Birmingham. Branch offices expand beyond Nashville in growing mid-South markets.

    Vulcan Plastics

    Consolidated Pipe opens a PVC Pipe Manufacturing operation in Athens, Alabama
    to service the growing regional plastic water and sewer industry.

  • The Second Generation

    Tom Kerr and his wife Lillian pass leadership of Consolidated Pipe to their three children, Bob, Howard, and Jane.

  • Consolidated Power Supply

    Consolidated Power Supply

    CPS expands into the renewable energy sector with the founding of Consolidated Power Supply, a division focused on materials for the nuclear energy sector.

  • A Period of Growth

    A Period of Growth

    Under Bob and Howard Kerr’s leadership, Consolidated Pipe adds numerous locations and capabilities across the South in the 1990s. Expansion into HDPE/MDPE fittings and fabrication, piling and structural products, controls and automation expertise, and a coatings plant all come online during this time.

    McElroy Fusion Machines

    CPS is one of the largest McElroy Fusion Machine outlets in the Southeast with training facilities at our Lawrenceville, Georgia location and certified technicians wherever we stock equipment. We can also provide heater re-coating and refurbishment.

  • Fusion Bond Epoxy Plant

    Fusion Bond Epoxy Plant

    Opens a state-of-the-art fusion bond epoxy coating plant that now allows CPS to coat ½ to 36-inch pipe up to 60-foot lengths. One of the only such facilities in the southeast.

  • High Country Fusion

    High Country Fusion

    Acquired High Country Fusion, an HDPE pipe company based in Fairfield, Idaho, which expands the company’s capabilities well west of the Mississippi.

    60 Years Strong

    Consolidated Pipe & Supply celebrates its 60 Anniversary of serving and supplying pipe, valves, fittings, and all accessories for the energy, oil & gas, utility, construction, industrial, water, and sewer industries

    Advanced Metering Systems

    CPS launches a specialized advanced metering systems group to assist municipalities and utilities keep up with rapidly expanding technologies and the best solutions for their need.

    Richard and David Kerr take over management of day-to-day business for Howard and Bob Kerr. This keeps a continuity of ownership not found in many business today, and marks a third generation of continued work.
